Hi Kith
I have tried to install SnakeOil 1.4.0 beta 3 now and I have some issues with JRiver:
  • Installing Ubuntu Server 24.04.1 LTS + SnakeOil 1.4.0 beta 3 + JRiver 32.058 = OK
  • In SnakeOil I can see and activate JRiver MC 32, but the status is a red X (not a green tick).
  • The log say:
    PHP Code:
    **** 2024-12-26T14:09:38
    **** JRiver MC 32

    Starting VNC Server
    Start Player
    cd /var/www;  /var/www/players/MediaCenter32/init /var/www/players/MediaCenter32 2>&1;/usr/bin/vncserver -localhost no 2>&1;

You will require a password to access your desktops.

    getpassword errorInappropriate ioctl for device
    Password

  • I cannot connect to the VNC server, the login I use is this (I use Remmina):
    - Protocol: Remmina VNC plugin
    - Server: <IP>:1
    - Password: Password1
This method is still correct, right?
Please advice or correct me I have missed something.

MP3 files will have to be looked at in another release. My MP3 files work just fine, and the decoders are there, perhaps it's some special mp3 files, or perhaps it's a bug somewhere, but unfortunately I have to focus as there's still some catch up to do. Here's the decoders supported by Snakeoil's mpd-v23 build. MP3 decoders include: mad, mpg123 and ffmpeg.

So the codec is supported, but just unsure why it's not playing with your mp3 library just yet.

Code:
 [mad] mp3 mp2
 [mpg123] mp3
 [oggflac] ogg oga
 [flac] flac
 [opus] opus ogg oga
 [audiofile] wav au aiff aif

Intel NUC Element, Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS 1.4.0-beta-3.
SO installed with some issues (see below).  SO backup restored successfully, played music using Squeezelite (v2.0.0-1507).  Biggest problem is NFS partitions not remounted automatically after boot.  Have to remount them manually (a pain which I have forgotten a few times to check!).

CPUset running, with some install error messages.  HQPlayer NAA install errors.

On Pi5 Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS, same issues, including requiring manual remount of NFS folders.  Using Squeezelite v2 (& LMS 9 on Intel NUC), able to play music.

I have been using the Pi5 to promote SnakeOil on SNA, even going as far as offering to post a microSD card preloaded with SO. The Pi5 is a far easier platform for newcomers to get into SO. Once the issue of LMS 9.0 is fixed, I will do another promotion.

I was just about to try 1.4 on my RPi 5. If LMS isn't working, I'll put that aside for the moment Wink

Will add a "apt update" before installing NAA. This should fix this problem

I'm getting this every time I install a deb package manually now for some reason. Hopefully once the deb packages are created in it's own apt repository this will go away. Technically this is a "Notice", as that's what that N: means. but still annoying to see this.

This is a warning. Something is weird with Ubuntu's cputset Unsure what is happening but I think (hope) cset will continue to work as this isn't an error.

This is strange. This should work. Can you manually remove /media/snakeoil_cache/networkaudiod_5.1.3-66_amd64.deb and try to install again? I
