Alright, 4 months later, finally have something to show for it. Please help me test this and report any problems.
Go to the release page here, and select either noble_arm64 (For Raspberry Pi) or noble_amd64 (For Intel/AMD computers).
To install, you can follow these steps. SSH into the Snakeoil PC (Prefer to be already running on Noble Numbat - other versions could work but it's hit or miss)
The above process will be improved upon later.. This is just the first run. Please let me know how it goes. Thank you all for your patience! It's been a while.

Woops, first boohoo.
Can you please download this attachment, and then copy it to this location? You might need to create this directory first:
Code:
/usr/local/share/alsa
Once you copied the file, can you do a refresh and see if it works now? Will fix this in Beta2.

Have updated the deb packages. Can you try and reinstall this and see if that's any better? Do a reboot after this install and let me know how it goes.
If this still doesn't work then maybe something else is happening, run this command and let me know what the issue is:

Its working after creating alsa.conf. thank you.
snakeoil:~$ sudo aplay -l

Tried install on Pi5. Installed Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS using Raspberry Pi Imager, then installed 1.4 Beta. Install ran through with no errors, and Mpd 0.22.9 plays music!
Restored backup with no issues. Previously remounting music NFS folders on reboot with Bookworm & 1.3 did not work. Problem does not appear in Ubunutu 24.04 & 1.4
As a note to add for your beta testing process, please provide more instructions on how to do things. Many of your users do not know Linux, where and how to download and install LMS, Squeezelite 2.0 etc. Yes, Google is a friend, but I was struggling to remember how to do things. This slows do the whole beta testing cycle.
Then the "fun" began. Installed LMS 9.0.0 manually, but when I tried starting LMS in Players tab, got this error
Start Player: cd /var/www;/var/www/players/lms/start /var/www/players/lms 2>&1;
Failed to restart logitechmediaserver.service: Unit logitechmediaserver.service not found
Could not install other music players in System/Software tab. Will try to install Squeezelite 2.0 manually.
Our mission is to create a free to use computer OS that is easy to install, intuitive to operate and play music that will connect and engage with you emotionally.
SnakeoilOS gives you the freedom to spend more time on listening, enjoying and exploring music. Wasting time on computers is now a thing of the past! Everything is constantly evolving/improving. Please check back often for updates.
