This server I'm using has 4 cores and 8 threads. But it's running multiple virtual machines and may be limited.
Also you seem to have problems with the wiki when I'm pushing a build. This would suggest kernel builder is going to be an issue . May need to move/run some of the more CPU intensive tasks back to my home network to get this to work. The only issue is my home network's pretty unreliable (thanks to the previous dog government that ruined everything). The Wiki is rarely updated, so not sure you need to move anything? When you have released 1.2.6, please give me a few days to update the Wiki and everything will be ok.

Will be tied up doing some other things after work for a while, but do let me know if you need any help and I'll attend to it. Hopefully can also join in the wiki update later this weekend.

I am still having problems loading images. I tried a smaller image 966 x 282 and it still failed. Please let me know a window when I can load the last images and the Wiki pages for Browse and SnakeOil will have the latest screenshots in the correct order. After that, I am done. If you have a time, please review my edits.
While I still have a few minor enhancement suggestions, I am happy with what Browse can do. It is robust and makes my life much easier when I am in the mood for the best SQ via RAM disk. Thank you.

Not entirely sure what the problem is actually. never had problems working with images before, but am using the latest version of mediawiki and perhaps they introduced new bugs. Will reboot the two VMs after this and see how it goes.

I'm really kind of surprised of the difference in sound when playing a music file from RAM disk vs local vs off a NAS (the last one should also effectively be a RAM disk?)... Will play with share buffers and see if that will make it equal to playing music off RAM disk. In theory that should achieve the same results.

AK, so, is it the RAM play the best sound in your system? And NAS is the worst?

A NAS requires Ethernet access, which introduces its own SQ influences. Not sure where you stand with audiophile grade network switches, but I am using one. On SNA, there is a small cabal of users who are dead against them and I do not want a similar fracas to start here.

On my setup, best is RAM disk, then music on local SSD, NAS + audiophile switch, NAS with normal switch.
I do have lots of free space on the SSD and music played on the SSD is slightly behind RAM disk. But whenever I start experimenting, the music on the SSD could be wiped if I had to reinstall Ubuntu etc. Plus duplicate albums on NAS and local SSD can make things confusing.

I have now completed my updates to both the Browse and SnakeOil Wiki pages. Screenshots have been updated (or added) to 1.2.6. SnakeOil Wiki page has been re-organised to be the same as actual layout. If time permits, please review.

Have own multiple switches in the past - HP, Cisco, Meraki, TpLink and now Unifi. Different switches and LAN cables do influence the sound.
Those who are dead against them is probably happy with just listening to Spotify. Which is OK. At the end of the day, it's music, defined by you. Once you realise something is better, dead against or not you will have to do it.
Yet to try audiophile switches in my setup though. If any maker wants me to evaluate and do a review, send one to me . Happy to make that offer here as it's unlikely any of them will get to see this request.

This weekend I will probably be busy at home learning some new stuffs for work. But will definitely look into it all once I have a block of time. Same with kernel builder, can't start on that until the week after at the earliest. With 1.2.6 out of the way I will need to dedicate my evenings to work related stuffs now.
