It is not anti virus. Message above indicated forum... Oh.. I mis-understood that particular configuration - it probably means all or nothing.. :/
have changed the config, can you try and see if download works again now? Finally! Downloaded sh file successfully...

Try this instead:
Code: sudo bash /path/to/snakeoil_shell_installer

OK, got install running on current 16.04 instance. But, it did not detect any ALSA Output Device after install. Was using external USB card; also tested with internal USB on NUC. Tried rebooting. Any suggestions?
Was hoping that recover.fw trick to get back to 1.1.11 could work, but alas no. Is there anything I can run, test etc. ? Otherwise, I will do a reinstall of 1.1/16.04 (have yet to learn LVM!).

Code: sudo ldd /usr/bin/alsamixer
All the dependent libraries should be included, and it works on my test setup, I wonder why the linking of the libs are not done properly.

Maybe not.. It's going to take longer than 1-2 hours. Have removed the alphas for now until I can get this sorted..

My earlier attempt was using 16.04 and SnakeOil 1.1.11 and running the 1.2 script
A little more progress when I installed 20.04 LTS and ran 1.2 script. - There appears to be a problem with mounting the library partitions using NFS; all my music is on NAS
Error mount: /media/music/dsd: bad option; for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might need a /sbin/mount. helper program.
- Tried to use WinSCP to copy music to music/media, but permission denied
- Unable to access mympd
- Unable to access LMS web player
Going back to 16.04/1.1.11 so that I can listen to some music...
