Trying something different this time as I'm sharing this directly from the download server. My hope is to build a bot to automate this in the future (i.e. post automatically with the relevant links, but that will have to come much much later).

Note that these links will expire end of July.

I found can't log in with forum password nor activation code for download, Snakeoil Downloads (snakeoil-os.net) . And no email recevied after pressing "Forgot Password" . Pls help, Thanks again!

This file server is a different service. Don't have to login.. There should be a download button (either at the top right) or somewhere in the middle. Click on that and it should download the file.

Thanks, now the Download button appears.

Just flashed with this fw. It seems ok before and after reboot. And finally this screen is back.

So happen I'll help someone to install SnakeOil in his fanless PC after a few days. I'll try the new 1.2.6. B4 installer with UbuntuStudio 22.04. He is running SnakeOil in Ubuntu 20.04 now.

That screen wasn't showing before because the cache metadata wasn't working for some reason. The problem is caused by the old cached WebApp vs the new API server. I may have attached the wrong beta 3 firmware, but beta 4 should fix it once and for all. Maybe, if in doubt just do a force refresh and see what happens.

Have also make changes to Beta 5 that will attempt to clear cache after doing a firmware update.

Hopefully no more segfaults in UbuntuStudio now?

BTW, this has been mentioned before, that lowlatency kernel still isn't real time... Hopefully when 1.2.6 is out I can finally work on the kernel builder.

2nd btw, @hkphantomgtr, let me know if you are still having problems mounting partitions/NFS in this new beta.

Working on netplan networking configuration now. Unlikely to get this done today, but discovered an interesting quirk. Netplan requires an additional system process running to work. While that by itself is no big deal (especially in a RT OS), the philosophy is to only run the minimal processes needed when playing back music.

In a future version I will add a toggle to switch between netplan (Requires a process running) and ifup-down (No additional process required).

Thank you. Updated firmware to 1.2.6.4 (Gear Isolation U6 BETA), running on Intel NUC.

As reported earlier, networking info now showing up, no need to do refresh. Confirmed upmpdcli now working with LMS. BubbleUPnP server now running and can be accessed via web page. To test: BubbleUPnP with upmpdcli and with MinimServer, but there may be a delay of a few days.

Top now running, almost there..!

The screen wraps when the command is long name; not sure whether you can or should truncate it??

I assume that you are still working on Browse?

Thanks for correcting me. Yet I don't want to risk with Ubuntu RT beta kernel.

And the installer always works with UbuntuStudio 20.04. Installer only doesn't work with Ubuntu 22.04 & UbuntuStudio 22.04. Installer Beta 3 already solved the segfaults from Ubuntu 22.04.

Probably I'll try to the Installer Beta 3 with UbuntuStudio 22.04 this Wednesday night or Thursday. If it is successful, then I'll use them on my new toy and let you know the result.

Can access 1.2.6.3 via mobile. With 1.2.6.4, get error trying to access SO via mobile Android 12 Chrome browser. "The site can't be reached" "http://.../pages/dashboard" is unreachable" Reload/ refresh still gives same error. Can replicate error consistently by loading/reloading the different firmware.

No issue with Win 11 Firefox.

I'm using UbuntuStudio 22.04 and it works fine here. Having said that this is a test running in a virtual machine.

Please try that out on 22.04 and let me know. Remember to turn off secure boot in the UEFI before installing UbuntuStudio 22.04, because you will never get pass installation with a secure boot loader.

And if you get segfaults, leave it be and I will give you a special build with some instructions on how to diagnose the errors. Hopefully we can identify the problem and then fix it.

That's an interesting one. Usually there are additional information in Chrome telling you when they block the site. Can you find out what it says? If not I'll try and hunt for that information later tonight.

Also, can you just try http://snakeoil.local and see what it says (or use your IP, or change the word snakeoil to your hostname (i.e. {hostname}.local) and see what happens?
