As for buffer vs RAM, I guess try both and find the best sound.
In theory, under perfect conditions - low buffer but enough RAM for your music should give you the best result. But there are several variables that will throw the theory out the window - e.g. power delivery, RAM specs, etc.... So really the key is to find the best balance.
