0.22.3 is included in Alpha 3? Do you mean the latest 0.22.4?

0.22.3 was installed by Alpha3 in 20.04, but not in 16.04.

Hmmm. I can't remember, gotta go and check. Maybe I can set this as an option (i.e. whether to keep old settings or not).

It is a nice to have, so do not go out of the way to make it happen.
 

Yes. 16.04 sounds really good in my setup (compared to 14.04 and 18.04, havn't tested 20.04). So the new 1.2 series will make sure the key players (MPD, and Squeezelite) will continue to work. Not too sure about LMS as I do not control that. And the move to 20.04 allows other people who prefers HQPlayer, JRiver, etc to move ahead.

This still sticks to the Snakeoil philosophies of "Music Your Way. Designed By Us, defined by you". Allowing one to tailor their computer exactly the way that sounds best in their setup.

Agree, 16.04 sounds really good. I can confirm that 20.04's sound stage is not as good in Alpha3. Trying HQPlayer (horrible interface!) was one of my motivations to push 1.2 along.
