Alpha Snakeoil Firmware - 1.1.0 (Blind Testing)
#31
Forget SL for now. Below are screenshots of "ALSA Status" from "Music Player" tab. The 1st is from your preview and is what I expected to see. Note the circled function; "Add Device".  The 2nd is a screenshot from my server running alpha FW. The "Add Device" function is missing.

...and below is what I see:

You will not see a second device if your audio doesn't have one. The preview is using a audio card with two outputs. Your USB  only have one.

Looks like you are over thinking it a bit. First of all, follow what I said above. Go to another menu and back again. Is SL running? Check everything in your network, do you have a second LMS running?

Don't go off the track as it will confuse me and make it very difficult to know what problem you have.

The problem is fixed now and I can no longer replicate it.

Yes, of course I tried going to another menu then back.  Here is a list of other things I tried without success:
-server restarts
-power cycling
-uninstalling SL then reinstalling
-turning DoP off and then on
-switching to another player and then back to SL
-trying every other version of SL
-having no other LMSs or SLs running on the network...I added them in to prove that no Snakeoil SL was detectable from any LMS on my network, while another version of SL from sms-200 was detectable at the same time from any LMS.

...and here is what fixed the problem

That entry had been blank for all the testing described above. I inserted the upsampling settings you see in the image and SL started straight away.
I then changed entry to
-r 384000  (still worked)
-p 70 (still worked)
back to no entry (failed again)
-r 384000 (worked)

Today working even with blank entry.

I have no idea what that means but it seemed like just putting in an entry for options at that location cleared something.

Whatever you did didn't cleared anything Big Grin.  The options are already empty. If you looked in one of your screenshots, there's this text:
Code:
_OPTIONS=""

Let's wait and see if it happens again.. Think
