Snakeoil 1.4.0 (High End)

I fear that the "barrier to entry" may be too high for rookies, and this is affecting uptake vs other options which are easier to install yet potentially offer less flexibility and inferior sound quality to Snakeoil.

Have figured out a way to do this. By making use of ventoy I can create a USB stick that will install Ubuntu and then install Snakeoil.. I can create this as an image to be downloaded, and folks can just dump that contents to a USB stick and install Snakeoil like the old days. Hopefully I can get this new thing out and this in theory will make it easier. <- May also create Windows (and Mac) programs to automate this too. i.e. a GUI to create a Snakeoil USB stick (Kind of like what Raspberry Pi is doing).

As for the wiki, that along with the blog will need to be updated before we update the contents... Unfortunately no ETA on that yet.. I hope to migrate the blog system by now but migrating the API server is taking far longer than anticipated

Hi, AK, can I uninstall the vnc server?  If so, would you please let me know how?  Much appreciated

VNCServer is only activated if you're using a GUI player (HQPlayer, etc).. Otherwise it will not be invoked... If you want to uninstall VNCServer, you can SSH into the system and run "sudo apt remove *vncserver".

i'm confused here,  not sure,   if I have 24.04 and its running SOS 1.30 running the current version of Lyriion upgraded from itself. ..   .   I realize I already asked this earlier in the thread,  but it's not clear.   DO I need to uninstall Lyrion from this machine and then reinstall the entire SOS Package?    There is not an update file?  

also --It seems a couple places that it suggest we should do a fresh install of 24.04 ...    can you confirm this?

No need to uninstall Lyrion if you already have it installed.

Error message details when trying to access the IP address in Windows:

The device or resource IP Address is not set up to accept connections on port "The File and Printer Sharing (SMB)".

Hmm. Can you do a screen cap of the error? I'm not sure what this is just yet.
