The SQ is poor compared with the Pi5 running LMS on SO 1.4.3.
Yep. Been there (a while back on RPi 3 and 4) and trashed the t-shirt.
FWIW, I settled on MoOde before I moved to SO, and I've tried all of the obvious ones.
Hi guys .... this is an interesting thread, I love this idea.
Before I started using Snake Oil server I was using Daphile server. It is a Linux system based (I Believe SLAX linux) music server that runs LMS and a very nice graphical front end of ABCDE for cd audio ripping. It runs completely in ram. When the system boots, it loads the entire os into ram and goes from there. I stopped using it only because I liked the way snake oil was going a little more. The way they did updates was pretty interesting, it came down the pipe as a complete image. the entire OS. It was a little frustrating, as you were locked into their configuration. more or less thats why I switched over to SOS. Still it is a great system, I keep a copy of it on a USB in case I need a music server fast for some reason.
