@ agent_kith has updated the Wiki technology and added 1.4.x information. The rest of the Wiki needs updating and we need your help.
Updating and maintaining the Wiki is a time consuming and labour intensive effort. Ideally, AK should be focusing on improving SnakeOil while the rest of us assist with the Wiki. I am looking to form a small team to do this.
Initially, I will ask a few of you to look at the Wiki on music players and post here on how to improve the content.
@ Bromf myMPD
@ hkphantomgtr Roon, Spotify Connect
@ wxrbbs upmpdcli
@ Primare11 JRiver
@ petemac110 beginners guide (previously agreed to do)
I am currently rewriting LMS & Squeezelite.
For everyone else, love to hear your feedback on the Wiki...

I'm still very happy to help in principle... just gotta find the time between family and business responsibilities.
I agree that many hands make light work, and it shouldn't be up to AK or any one person to maintain the Wiki.

Hmmmm, it has been more than a week since my initial post, and apart from AK and petemac110, I have not heard anything about the new Wiki. It makes me wonder whether anyone has looked at it ???
This lack of interest is most disappointing....

I'm still keen - just need some time to come up for air.
I'm hoping to have some time to throw at this over the Anzac Day long weekend as I am taking a few days off work to lengthen my break.

I have just finished the music players and music streaming services, and will now focus on how to improve information for someone just starting out with SnakeOil. Your struggles to get it going will be invaluable in guiding my updates. My aim is to make the Wiki the only place needed for a beginner to get SnakeOil running.
1.4.3 has removed a major hurdle, the transferring of the script file to the Ubuntu instance. But there are still issues because we assume a certain level of technical know how. What is the minimum level ? Talk soon...

What is the minimum level ? Talk soon... Right now the most difficult bits is likely going to to be the installation of Ubuntu itself. I might start work on getting a video (and write-up) on how to do this (via automation).. And hopefully that will make this process even easier.
Just need to finish up some more coding stuffs first. Right now works on Snakeoil has slowed down somewhat as I'm putting up a 1/4 of my time for Snakeoil, while dedicating 3/4 of my time on job hunting...
Not spending time on documentation really help a lot in the overall pace so kudos for volunteering to help out.

Am currently working on the writeup, and will get PeteMac110 inputs on how to improve things. If you can focus on the video, that will help..

I have spent a lot of time revamping the music players. Using LMS as an example:
https://www.snakeoil-os.net/reference/pl...sic-server
Each players will have a "what is it?", "how to control", "useful links" and "tips". Hopefully, it will make life easier for someone new. Feedback most welcome...
