Trying to understand why the CM5 is better than the Pi5. Is the limitation the existing I/O board? And should be replaced by a dedicated audiophile board? A CM4 audio player may well be hot swappable to CM5 as the pin-outs are largely compatible.
A RPi5 is an all-in-one general purpose computer. And a CM5 is more like a brain, it needs to be part of another board to become a compute unit. So if we a board that's specifically designed for audio, adding a CM5 to this board could well make it sing (as the CPU on the CM5 is a lot faster than the CM4 CPU)
