Happy new year. To be honest 2025 can't get any worse than 2023/24. LOL. Cheer3

What do you mean by this?

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: [*]Dashboard still showing RC1. Dashboard Network tab "coming soon"
Somehow missed this. Filing a bug report to be fixed in RC-3.

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: [*]Error message at end of install: N: Download is performed unsandboxed as root as file '/home/cs/snakeoil-1.4.0-rc-2-ubuntu_noble_arm64.deb' couldn't be accessed by user '_apt'. - pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission denied).   Same message when I tried installing LMS9 manually previously.  But does not affect install
Yeah, as mentioned before this is a "notice" not an "error". Ignore this for now, here's hoping once Snakeoil can be installed via a apt repository this notice will automatically go away.

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: [*]Network Tab.  Showing Wlan0 DHCP, when it is disabled.  Eth0 enabled with proper ip address but display not showing DHCP.  Cannot change.
This is normal. You can't change ethernet settings from the network tab yet. Hopefully will address this in the future.

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: [*]After SO config restore, File uploaded. Press OK to begin basic configuration restore.  Button is showing System.  This error has been there for a long time, never bothered to report!
Filed a bug report for this. Will be fixed in RC-3.

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: [*]Still requiring manual upload of NFS folders after reboot.  Tried changing service to "Requires", which resulted in long boot time but did not fix problem.
Can you show me a screencap of your NFS configuration? This is really unusual and shouldn't be happening.

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: [*]On Available Music Software (Basic), selecting Logitech Media Server + Sueezelite does not load LMS.  This is important for unactivated users. And when trying to install in System/software
Filing a bug report to fix this. Will try to also hide this if LMS isn't installed.

This works for me.
Download fail... cannot continue!
This works for me.
Can you try to download this file manually from your computer and see if it works? And from the snakeoil computer, run this command:
Code:
curl -f -s https://artifacts.snakeoil-os.net/players/lyrion_music_server/lyrionmusicserver_latest_arm.deb  -o  /media/snakeoil_cache/lyrionmusicserver_latest_arm.deb

Also, I wonder, do you have this folder /media/snakeoil_cache?

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: [*]*** Name: NAA Mode: Installing ***

[*]Mympd does not install
Changing software configuration...
*** Name: ntnod Mode: Installing ***
tar (child): /media/snakeoil_cache/mympd_aarch64.tar.bz2: Cannot open: No such file or directory

All these works for me. Please double check if /media/snakeoil_cache folder exists, and if yes double check your networking setup.

[*]upmdpcli does not install
Looks like the upmpdcli repo is dead. Will fix this in RC3...

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: Please let me know if you want me to do a similar thorough test on Intel NUC before you release RC3
Please do test this on the NUC also. Things should work, but just in case.

Good ieda.

(01-Jan-2025, 08:27 AM)Snoopy8 Wrote: And a reason not to go Bookworm for the Pi.
Bookworm (as well as other distros) will be supported in the future. That's the point of moving to deb packaging. Just going to support noble for the initial 1.4.0 release for now, with more to be added in later releases.
Snakeoil Operating System - Music, your way!
