Hmm, perhaps mounting errors are not disabled in dmesg. I'll see if I can find the problem of this and fix it.

Run it as "sudo alsamixer"

LCD:
I would turn off the LCD screen's light of my notebook.  It's become blank (black) but non turn off the rear LCD light.

I'm not entirely sure if this will work with the current kernel to be honest. Can you try this:

sudo su -c 'echo "0" > /sys/devices/virtual/[b]backlight[/b]/acpi_video0/brightness

And see if there are any errors? If no, does the backlight turn off after a while?
