Was also going to ask about the Qualcom atheros chipset for the EeePC but can't find the post where we discussed that....all the .8 series posts seem to be gone ?

@bromf. Check your PM and let me know if that kernel works for the EeePC or not. 

I downloaded the latest iso  x86_64 and used unetbootin to write it to usb. Then replaced /casper/vmlinuz with the version you supplied.  The EeePC does not boot.

II have opened the downloaded iso with isomaster and replaced vmlinuz then wrote it to a cd . Will try booting that next.

Result !! Edited iso boots and Snakeoil has networking !  Yes, the modified kernel you supplied works as expected. :-)
