To use minimserver I would need to install minimstreamer and set up transcoding.  Then would I just set up minimserver as a service at start up?

I guess, try and set minimserver as the server player in the Snakeoil WebApp.. See how PS3 deals with the content. If it works, then just SSH in and setup minimserver as a service. Next go into the Snakeoil WebApp and change the players back to LMS/Squeezelite and reboot (or start the minimserver service). And that'd be it.
