Music Library and SSD - Huey - 10-May-2025

Hello, I have Snakeoil installed on a Pi5 as per the instructions and can listen to internet radio and it is sounding good..
Now I have a ssd plugged into a pi5 usb but in the “Music Library” section the ssd is not showing, as a “/dev/sdb1” type of listing, ready to be initialised.
I am quite capable of missing the obvious when it comes to this stuff so does Snakeoil find the drive automatically or is it manually done by a command?

Hi, Huey,

Please check for the command "fdisk" for listing and formatting a SSD/HD in linux.  If your SSD more than 2T, there is another command to do so.  I just forgot it now.  But google or AI sure can help.

After you formatted this SSD as EXT4, then you can mount it under "Library" tab in Snakeoil webui.
