Glibc 2.36 missing - jetski - 27-Feb-2025 I updated via the system - to 22.04.5. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS Release: 22.04 Codename: jammy I am unable to install Lyrion due to this error: curl: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.36' not found (required by curl) Seem to be using the default: ldd (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.35-0ubuntu3.9) 2.35 Copyright © 2022 Free Software Foundation, Inc. Any ideas how I can progress? Do I need to downgrade/upgrade? Distributor ID: UbuntuIf you are using 1.4.0, please upgrade again to Ubuntu Noble (24.04). Currently only noble builds are released, but I can do older distros if needed. However I am unlikely to do that though. Moving on, nobile will continue to be supported until it's EOL, and i will build for the newer distros. Technical background: Ubuntu has changed over the years and it's impossible (time consuming) to build a single binary that will work across all platforms. In theory I should be able to build a binary using some old distro - say 16.04, but then i have to use newer ubuntus to build the music players (as they require a new compiler). So going forward Snakeoil will build binaries according to the distribution. RE: Glibc 2.36 missing - jetski - 28-Feb-2025 Happy to do that. I was more concerned that it might not be supported fully and did not want to go "too soon". I shall report back here. Just not sure if I still want to do that because some bots on the Internet will occasionally want to create a few thousand requests to download the files off my servers. In the past I have placed the Snakeoil software in the forums and you'll need a forum account in order to download, but I'm moving away from that and want to make it easier to download again. Thing is - more big downloadable links kind of seems like a bad idea intuitively. Will look into this more when I have time, things like load balancing (and rate limiting) on the download resources, intrusion prevention systems, etc. RE: Glibc 2.36 missing - jetski - 04-Mar-2025 (03-Mar-2025, 09:40 AM)agent_kith Wrote:I'm glad to report that I followed your advice and it worked - I had to fiddle with the music players to enable me to access port 9000 for lyrion and then rescan my libraries - but a pretty good experience all told.(28-Feb-2025, 01:12 AM)jetski Wrote: Happy to do that.
