Snakeoil 1.3.0 Alpha 2 - agent_kith - 18-Nov-2023

Alright. Apologies for the 1 week delay. Please report any issues/bugs here and I will attempt to fix them all for beta 1, before the official release. thank you for your patience!

If you have already installed alpha-1. You'll need to remove it first. Do so by running the following commands:

Code:
sudo systemctl stop snakeoil-rest           # Stop snakeoil-rest service
sudo rm /usr/local/sbin/snakeoil-rest -f   # Remove the snakeoil rest API server

Next, run the installer again. After the installation is finished. Reboot for good measure.

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (x86_64)

Code:
bash -c "$(wget -qLO - https://artifacts.snakeoil-os.net/artifacts/testing/snakeoil-installer-jammy-x86_64-1.3.0-alpha-2.sh)"

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (aarch64)

Code:
bash -c "$(wget -qLO - https://artifacts.snakeoil-os.net/artifacts/testing/snakeoil-installer-jammy-aarch64-1.3.0-alpha-2.sh)"

Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm (aarch64)

Code:
bash -c "$(wget -qLO - https://artifacts.snakeoil-os.net/artifacts/testing/snakeoil-installer-bookworm-aarch64-1.3.0-alpha-2.sh)"

So once 1.3.0 is officially out. 1.3.1 will be about DSP.. So stay tuned Smile

Grrr. The one thing I didn't test as I didn't have enough micro-sd cards to test.. Give me a couple of days to work this out. My apologies.

RE: Snakeoil 1.3.0 Alpha 2 - uglymusic - 20-Nov-2023

I've had Alpha 2 running with no stability problems on my server RPi 4 for about five or six hours yesterday.

Only one issue so far. I tried cpuset and found this:

I can't seem to upload jpegs or pngs, or link to them on Dropbox, so I'll have to say that I have an error message that says: No tasks are running in (user), please file a bug report and state the music players you are using.

I'm only using LMS, as this is my server. I'll check on a client machine soon.

Later that same day... LMS is telling me that the version in SO Alpha is out of date.

Installed Snakeoil 1.3.0 Alpha 2 on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (x86_64). The sound quality has improved, especially pleased with the low frequencies. But there was a problem with the tags of some songs. The tags stopped being read.

Are you referring to this?:
Quote:let s do it!!! wow

/boot/firmware/cmdline.txt

modify:

console=serial0,115200 dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=tty1 root=LABEL=writable rootfstype=ext4 cgroup_enable=cpuset cgroup_memory=1 cgroup_enable=memory systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=false rootwait fixrtc quiet splash

Add red text

reboot

It's not so much a need for a fix (cpuset, so far, hasn't yielded any SQ improvements for me), but a flag to AK that it still needs to be fixed before release. But thanks!
