Squeezelite crashing on playing MP3 - RomanM - 21-Oct-2022

Resolved with 0.25 - it stopped crashing!

===================================
Audio Startup Time
Some audio receivers and D/A converters need a little extra time to start decoding audio from the player when playing back MP3 audio. You can specify how much time, in seconds, to wait after pressing play to start sending MP3 audio. The default value is 0, a value of 0.25 seconds works for many receivers.

Hi all,

Me again...

Squeezelite Crashes (versions R2, 1.6.4, 1.8) when LMS tells it to play MP3 (320kbps CBR, mp3)
Doesn't crash on "ralph" but not playing MP3s either. Typical error message is segmentation fault (below).
mpg123, ffmpeg, lame installed on both the player PC and LMS PC.
In LMS server settings, Advanced -> File Types against MP3 only "Native" or "Disabled" available to choose from.
What am I missing?

Hi,

What version of Ubuntu are you using?

libc errors is probably indicative of running on older Ubuntu distros (e.g. 16.04 or 18.04)... Upgrading to 22.04 LTS should in theory solve all your issues.

Of course the trick is for me to build everything on older versions of Ubuntu (e.g. 14.04), but 1 that is going to be counter-productive as I do reckon players build with 22.04 seems to sound better?

The player Snakeoil runs on 22.04 server. "Audio Startup Time" cnahge 0 -> 0.25 fixed the problem of starting an MP3 but when I want to jump to the middle of the track the player crashes with the same error in log. I press "Save", the squeezelite restarts and crashes again, every time as LMS attempts to resume playig... until I stop LMS... I will keep investigating and report here if I figured anything...

Keep me posted. Unsure if I have time today to check this in my own setup, and I have to find some MP3s first.

Can you generate a diagnostics file and send it to the link please? thanks.
