[split] Cannot Activate Snakeoil in 1.2.x (Gear Isolation) - hkphantomgtr - 02-May-2022

Hi, pals, would you please tell me where to activate SnakeOil after using 1.2.0 installer to install on ubuntu 20.04 LTS？ Clicking this "Activate" button just brings me to "Snakeoil" tab. So far, the problem troubling me is the number of available mounting slot.
Any help will be appreciated.

Eeek. Can you enter the following address bar and see if it works?

http://snakeoil.local/snakeoil

Change snakeoil.local to the DDNS name or just use the IP. I'd see if I can verify and fix the problem.

Just checked this..

What you're seeing is a browser caching issue. Big Grin

Doing a force reload will fix that glitch, same as going straight to http://snakeoil.local/snakeoil

Unsure if this is something that can be fixed, but I'll look into this.

I'm sorry that both ctrl-F5, & "http://snakeoil.local/snakeoil" doesn't work. In these days, I've "fresh install"ed few times for different testing purpose. Yet everytime the problem is still there. Pls. help. Shy

Sorry, my bad, it should be http://snakeoil.local/pages/snakeoil

If above didn't work, try and use the IP address (http://ip_address_here/pages/snakeoil) and see if that works. What browser are you using? And what version of Snakeoil? Try and update to 1.2.4 and see if that helps.

Free edition of Snakeoil should only have "Snakeoil" menu, and no sub-items under it.

Well, both http://snakeoil.local/pages/snakeoil and http://ip_address_here/pages/snakeoil, with ctrl-F5 still don't work. But once there was a very very brief flash of a screen looks like about donation, after I first time clicked the "activate" button with above method. Then I can't reproduce that scene.

And, I understand there is not sub-items under "Snakeoil" menu before activated. Yet they are there, I got no idea what's happening. Big Grin

For the browser, I've tried chrome, edge, safari on Win PC, iPad, MacBook, and android phone, they all return the same result. Sad

I hope when my NUC arrived, Snakeoil works with it normally, then all the abovementioned problems is no longer a problem... kakak
