Snakeoil 1.2.2 Beta 2 - agent_kith - 26-Jan-2022

Alright, happy Australia Day to my fellow Australians Big Grin. Hope you guys have a great one.

Here's beta 2. This should all be good (fingers crossed).... This is probably the last test build as this will go official pretty soon. Started in late May last year, this update took around 9 months in the making. This took a long time, and I thank you guys for your patience. Unsure yet if I should release the official version this weekend or wait till next weekend. Will see how it goes. I'm gonna take a quick breather, gotta make sure I don't suffer from burn outs. A few days break, release U2, and then work will begin with the server build.

Ubuntu will release a new LTS sometime in April. I expect the existing installer will continue to work, worse case it will be minor changes. Fingers crossed.

Some minor issues.

Dashboard
On laptop running Win 11, music library and music player headers wrapped on 2 lines, thus making the boxes larger.  Activation and Thank words overlap.  Flipping that box, on Network tab, "coming soon".

On Android phone, missing activation info/ system info.  Is this intended?

Music player
Expert mode looks a lot cleaner.  Confirmed working, mpd 22.9, Minimserver (which needs an update), LMS + Squeezelite R2.   Not working is LMS + upmpdcli (will check further).  The button "stop using this player" needs to align with box.

Can you do a screen shot? What's the resolution of that screen? Is your browser font set to 100% (or some larger values?)
Oh. I know what you mean, I think you're getting these issues when the browser is not maximised. I'll see if I can fix 'em.

Kind of. It's not showing in portrait mode (when phone is vertical). If you flip the phone horizontally it should show up.

Can you do a screencap of the needs to align with box with the stop button? This is on Windows 11?
Same as above. I'll see how I can fix this.

Alright.. Fixed some of the display quirks I think. I have resized the browser and all looks good for now, but that is a development build. Unsure what compiled static pages will look like. If that happens with the static pages I'm just gonna shorten the labels to a single work. Should work. Big Grin

Network "coming soon" is expected. Will add that info in after U2 is out.

Will look into minimserver and upmpdcli this week when I can. And once resolved will roll out this release officially.. I'm gonna get my third jab this Friday. Being Moderna it's very likely I might not be able to do anything on the weekend. So will strive to complete everything before then. Unfortunately helping a mate out with their home today and tomorrow (they are on holidays) so unsure when I can actually start on this. lol. So close and yet so far.

Thought I can check up on upmpdcli this morning. But I overslept Shy. Usually woke up at 5am, but I woke up at 7:30am instead. Granted that was a great night's sleep and I feel more recharged. But I gotta go do my day job work now. Hopefully can get this upmpdcli issue resolved before Friday.

@Snoopy8 LMK if you find out what problem it is, or describe in more detail what isn't working.. That'll be a great help. appreciate it. Thanks

Am using upmpdcli with LMS and UPnP/DLNA plugin.  In theory, should pop up as a player, but not found.  Have re-checked UPnP/DLNA plugin, regenerated new config.

I am guessing here but maybe problem may be due to "new libnpupnp library" ???

Yeah, this view logs and network information is gonna happen in U3.. Hence coming soon.. Just going to put them there for now, and populate later. Would love to do view logs in part 2, but that will probably require more work.

@Snoopy8 Works for me.. But I may have forgotten to push the upmpdcli config changes to the firmware. Will double check official firmware and make sure this is working.

Not working for me. I am using Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.1, UPnP/DLNA Bridge v1.82.1.  I  can see on SnakeOil Player tab that LMS and Upmpdcli are both running with thier own PID.  But the UPnP/DLNA Bridge plugin does not see the Upmpdcli player at all. I have tried cleaning the config and regenerate, uninstalled Bridge plugin, uninstalled Upmpdcli, and re-installed both, all to no avail.

I even re-visited what I wrote in the wiki, just in case I forgot something.

Previously, I recall having to wait several minutes for upmpdcli to start, but now just does not show up after waiting at least 10 minutes.

I have not tried going under the hood, never had to previously. Is there something that I should look at?

While trying things, found a potential bug with Expert Player. Had both LMS and Upmpdcli running, and then uninstalled Upmpdcli. Could not reconfigure Expert Player until I re-installed Upmpdcli.

I'm using the stock 8.0.1, but the Bridge is same as yours (1.82.1) so it should still work.

It should start immediately? Having said that I don't have a lot of active experience with this.

First thing to do is probably update to the official 1.2.2, and see if it still is a problem.

Go to the LMS web portal, click on settings, and go under information. Confirm the DLNA renderer is not in there, and then check the log files and find out why.

Also, the wiki hasn't been updated, and the error checking isn't fool proof, when you turn on Upmpdcli, you have to select a MPD to go with it as well, and then configure. Unlike the old times where you only start upmpdcli+LMS, it's upmpdcli+LMS+Some_MPD.

Oh... That's something the system doesn't expect.. Hmm.... I wonder how to fix that.. I'll file it as a bug and will fix this in the next release. Usually when the player is being used you can't uninstall the application from the WebApp. But you still can uninstall it manually from a session, and that might be an issue..
