This is more mpd. I think it's just the stock MPD.conf that's included. The developer don't include that tag by default, hence it's not there in Snakeoil OS.

oic, Thanks..... that's interesting. Without this "albumartist" tag, some MPD clients in my ipad just almost stop working, they just hang. Maybe enabling this tag in future release by default to save trouble to some novice users like me. :D

Upmpdcli runs a pre-existing MPD, and they should all have albumartist tag included. Do you know what version of mpd it's running on? I'll check the configs to make sure I don't miss anything.

Ic. I guess there is something missing. FYI, as after I switched to Upmpdcli, the albumartist tag is gone and the old problem appeared. I went to add this albumartist tag manually and then it works again.

O...... I forgot to mention this info in last reply. I'm still using MPD v0.21.4

I think 0.21.4 is missing that tag. I'd fix that in U4.
