OK.. You can re-run the installer to get by the old broken myMPD.

Have successfully built custom 7.0.1.. But will run some tests to make sure it still works. Hopefully I can come up with a quick module for you to get things up and running.

I reran the installer but now the server does not start....permissions error..

EDIT.... 3 reinstalls later and it seems to be working.....just waiting for mpd to update the library :-)

Probably need to wait a bit after you run the installer, at the last stage where it says gives it 60 seconds to 2 minutes. This last stage may take a while.

Give it about 2 minutes and see if it still works. If there's a problem, re-run the installer again. Copy and paste the install output if it sitll doesn't work. Hopefully it shows if there are any errors.

Rerunning the installer now gets the server back but reinstalls myMPD 6.11.0.... Wink

removing 6.11.0 and installing 7.0.1 leads to the 'unable to connect' error and reinstalling the beta reinstalls 6.11.0 loop loop loop :-)

Keep the buggy 6.11.0 for now.. Will try and get 7.0.1 up in the next beta ... Right now I'm trying to fix my dead computer so I can spin that up for more computing resources.. Tongue

Got 7.0.1 working ! don't ask how as I used the .deb package from the open-suse builds via jcorporation and had to write the auto config then change the webserver address for the running snakeoil.....(which will need to be updated at each boot unless I set some static or reserved addresses) Shy

But it works and I can search albums using the album-art tab !! (Which was the object of the exercise....:-) :-)...proof that it was possible for myMPD to search artwork)

Howdy - Thought I'd try this in a VirtualBox environment to see if I could get the latest version of JRiver Media Center going, but I'm running into a small issue accessing SnakeOil via the web browser after installation.

This is the first time I've worked with Ubuntu Server in a long time, and my Linux knowledge requires Googling everything! So - I'm a bit stumped on how to troubleshoot the 403 error?

Note: I am able to view the samba shares and ssh in via WINscp.

It is more likely a VB setting that is causing the problem than SnakeOil itself. Check in VB, Network, that you have a bridged adapter setting enabled attached to your PC's network adapter.

Yep - That's what I chose. I had originally gone with NAT, and had to start over. I couldn't view the shares or SSH in before I changed to Bridged.

i assume that when you boot up SnakeOil on VB, you can see the ip address, and enter that ip adress on the browser. Is this when you get the 403 error? SnakeOil itself does not block anything and you do not need to do anything special, nor do any Linux commands.

It could be a VB setup issue (or maybe need to update?) or perhaps a firewall on PC?

That's an interesting one. Can you run the installer again and C&P the output? Post this in a new thread under "support & troubleshooting".

403 sounds like the web server is accepting requesting, but then it denied your access. Not sure why. Will be good to suss this out.
