Well, after trying to wrangle Samba for transferring files(aka music
) from my Ubuntu desktop to Snakeoil Raspberry Pi I had mostly given up and just used a usb stick.Yesterday I set up an HP5740 thinclient with expansion bay as a vinyl ripper using ubuntu server, arecord, M-audio Audiophile 2496 pci card and it all worked fine...
Then set about transferring the ripped files to the desktop for processing in Audacity and.... found that sftp worked like magic ootb !
So, as Snakeoil is ubuntu under the hood, today I tried sftp to send files to Snakeoil and Yes ! it worked too !
Very very happy here.
